Technology distributor Comworth has partnered with Konica Minolta to introduce an award winning range of A3 multifunction copiers to the NZ market. The new Develop products are already grabbing market share overseas and go head to head with the big names in the copier industry.

Warwick Beban, CEO Konica Minolta NZ, says the Develop range was introduced by Konica Minolta specifically for sale by the reseller channel. “This gives distributors and resellers the opportunity to work with a vendor with a proven track record and a product range that drives up competitiveness.”

The launch of the Develop range opens up a whole new revenue stream for traditional print resellers and complements the strength of the OKI printers and MFPs distributed by Comworth. As a result, says Bruce Greenslade, Comworth business development manager, resellers can access a complete range of product and document management solutions. “Develop adds another string to our resellers’ bow. They wanted something to meet demand for high-speed A3 printing and as a brand of Konica Minolta, Develop Copier meets this need perfectly.”

Today, the Develop machines are sold in 60 countries around the world. The range starts with an A3 colour multifunction capable of printing or copying 22 pages per minute, while at the top end, the C754 colour machine produces up to 75 pages per minute.

Develop machines, continues Greenslade, are designed for ultimate ease-of-use. “These are high performance machines but they are built with simplicity in mind. With large, 9-inch touchscreens, using a Develop is as simple as using your smartphone or tablet.”

That’s reflected in the user-configurable start screen: frequently used functions can be placed on it while those which aren’t used can be removed. “There’s a shift in approach in these devices which follows the trend of consumer technology being intuitive and engaging – yet Develop delivers a complete office system with all document functions you need.”

As a result, Greenslade says the Konica Minolta / Develop range has won plaudits for performance, design and power saving technology, including taking out the Buyers Laboratory’s 2013 Line of the Year award for an unprecedented third consecutive year.

The addition of Develop to Comworth’s solution set equips resellers to bid on more business, especially where managed print solutions are required. “With Develop, our managed print range has grown from 7 machines to 23. We now have a managed print range which starts from entry level A4 mono and scales all the way through to high-speed A3 colour. Already, our resellers are proposing solutions which have Develop as the central, high-speed printer and copier, with OKI serving as supporting A4 devices to provide print solutions that accurately meet customer needs,” says Greenslade.

Beban notes that the partnership with a proven distributor will deliver benefits for both parties. “Comworth has a well-established, well-supported nationwide network of resellers. With its technical support and logistical capabilities coupled to one of the most exciting product ranges available, Kiwi businesses can look forward to a greater range of multifunction print solutions than ever before.”
The full range is available to businesses and Comworth resellers immediately.
