Compuware APM Extends Synthetic Support to 85% of Commercial Browsers With Google Chrome

Announcement posted by Bass PR 25 Sep 2013

World's Largest Synthetic Monitoring Network Now Delivers Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox for IPv4 and IPv6
Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company delivering a new generation of application performance management (APM), today announced the availability of Google Chrome browser agent technology within the Compuware Performance Network. This new Chrome support, combined with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Firefox, continues to extend Compuware's industry-largest global synthetic network with more than 150,000 instrumented IPv4 and IPv6 nodes and end points. The solution is offered on a subscription basis via the SaaS delivery model for fast time-to-value and extremely low ongoing cost to own.

Compuware APMaaS is the only solution that enables organizations to both optimise user experience and manage performance, availability and service levels from a unified real-user and synthetic perspective — all within a single on-demand platform for fast and easy deployment. With the addition of Chrome, the APMaaS synthetic monitoring platform now provides coverage of more than 85 percent of the global browser market.

The performance of a web application can vary considerably depending on the browser type, its version and the device it's running on. The Compuware Performance Network offers real browser technology, as opposed to browser emulation or basic HTTP protocol testing. The solution captures and presents the performance differences between browsers, desktop versus mobile access, IPv4 versus IPv6 networks and more. Measuring performance using Compuware APMaaS real browser technology is the only way organizations can truly manage the performance of mission critical customer-facing web applications.

"Our ongoing commitment to our customers is to provide them with the largest, most reliable and most current synthetic monitoring network available on the market," said Steve Tack, Vice President of Product Management for Compuware's APM business unit. "Users of our APMaaS platform need to ensure they deliver optimal user satisfaction regardless of browser, device or network and we are happy to provide them with the broadest web and mobile support in the industry."

Compuware APM is the leader in a new generation of application performance management. Unlike traditional APM solutions that are heavy, difficult and reactive, Compuware APM is light, smart and proactive. Compuware APM is built to manage the complexity of today's most challenging modern applications including mobile, cloud, big data and SOA. Compuware APM optimises and monitors tens of thousands of applications for more than 4,000 customers, large and small, around the globe. Through the lens of end-user experience, our customers enjoy faster performance, proactive problem resolution, accelerated time-to-market and reduced application management costs through smarter analytics, advanced APM automation and a unique performance lifecycle foundation.
