Brent Wilkinson to head Hitachi Data Systems in New Zealand

Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. has appointed sales manager Brent Wilkinson to head its New Zealand business.
Wilkinsons appointment follows Hitachi Data Systems decision in October last year to sell its 49 per cent stake in Revera, formerly known as Hosting and Datacentre Services, and increase its presence in New Zealand.
Reporting directly to Mark Kay, managing director of Hitachi Data Systems - Australia and New Zealand, Wilkinson is responsible for expanding Hitachis storage infrastructure solutions in New Zealand, primarily through the recruitment of new channel partners in vertical markets and extending the current services model in the channel community.
Both we and our channel partners believe that there is huge potential for Hitachis storage solutions in New Zealand, said Wilkinson. Our immediate goal is to create more awareness of Hitachis presence in the local market and generate demand for our storage solutions via our TrueNorth Channel Partner Program.
We see the channel playing a pivotal role in our growth and will be introducing new staff over the next few months as additional resources and support for our partners.
Wilkinson brings 30 years of experience in the IT industry to his new role. Prior to this, he held a senior sales position at SolNet Solutions and most recently was the portfolio sales executive for Unisys.
