“Dick Smith has more than 270 retail stores, a presence in many high-profile David Jones stores and a popular online retail site, making it the perfect partner for Leap Motion to launch in Australia,” said Leap Motion President and COO Andy Miller. “It’s also an ideal place for even more people to experience the magic of using just their hands in the air to play, learn, and create on their computers.”

Since the Leap Motion Controller launched in July 2013, users have downloaded more than 1 million apps from the Airspace™ Store in the first 3 weeks after its launch. Popular apps from Australian developers include Fruit Ninja and Art Kit and Leap Motion also has a developer community of more than 65,000 interested developers around the world.

Eamon Drew, one of the co-founders of Leap Motion’s exclusive Australian distributor Blonde Robot, said, “'We're super excited here at Blonde Robot to be representing Leap Motion as their exclusive Australian and New Zealand distributor. Interacting with your computer without touching anything is certainly the future of computing and we know that Leap Motion will bring lots of fun and joy to our customers. At $129.95 it also makes for a great Christmas present.”

As well as theearly tech adopters, Leap has already become very popular with gamers, creative-like musicians and artists, and families – particularly as there is an abundance of learning apps and games for kids.

The Leap Motion Controller offers an exciting new way of interacting with computers. People that take the time to get familiar with the in-air interactions and explore the variety of applications available in Airspace have found it a powerful addition to their mouse and keyboard, allowing them to do more.
