EMC Corporation, the world leader in information storage management, today announced the appointment of Sal Fernando to the position of national product manager for Australia and New Zealand with responsibility for overseeing product development and product marketing activities in the region.
Previously, Fernando worked as strategic software consultant for EMC, driving sales opportunities for EMCs software and storage management tools and educating customers and partners on how the full range of EMCs offerings operate across the entire information lifecycle management (ILM) chain.
Steve Redman, managing director for EMC in Australia and New Zealand, said, Sal has spent more than 20 years designing and marketing solutions that enhance customers' ability to store and manage information in the most cost-effective manner. He understands customers' needs and has the skills needed to help EMC maintain its leadership role in the region.
During his tenure in the IT industry, Fernando has worked in senior and specialist roles at Veritas where he was chief technical architect for ANZ, TenFour Systems AF and Control Data. He has helped EDS, IBM, Telstra, Rio Tinto, Westpac, BHPB, Optus, The Department of Defence, Macquarie Bank and Coles Myers manage their information.
