The Block - Lighting Inspiration

Australia's favourite renovation show The Block is back for 2014, and it has sure come back with a bang! But while the rivalries and tantrums keep us entertained, our favourite part of The Block is seeing the contestants' superb lighting designs and plans.

It’s no secret that the Reactive team is obsessed with lighting. We believe that lighting is truly what turns your house into a home. It has the power to give you the atmosphere, the charisma and the look that you have dreamed of for your home for years.

The wonders that lighting plans can do has no better been exhibited than in this series of The Block. We have seen the couples use lights ranging from abstract night lamps to stunning mounts (like the Pirouette flush mount pictured below that was used by Alisa and Lysandra in their his and hers ensuites).

It has also been brilliant to see The  Block getting behind Australian lighting designer Christopher Boots, who has now launched ‘The Block Pop up Shop’ on his website, which you can view here. As Christopher Boots said on The Block "lighting can make or break a room". We couldn't agree more!
