Penfolds 2014 re-corking dates confirmed

Announcement posted by Wickmans Fine Wine Auctions 28 Mar 2014

The dates for the long awaited Australian tour of Penfolds re-corking clinics have been announced for 2014

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA – Friday 28th March 2014 – Penfolds have released the dates for the Australian segment of their travelling re-corking clinics. The locations have yet to be confirmed and bookings will be open when all of the details have been announced.

Many collectors and enthusiasts take their old bottles along to the clinics in the hope of increasing the value. Wine auctioneer Mark Wickman said people with old bottles should be aware that it works both ways and if the bottle fails the clinic its value will too.

“The clinics are a great place to get an old bottle of Penfolds re-conditioned and evaluated for its ability to still be drinking soundly,” Wickman said.

“But anybody hoping for a quick profit on the bottle of Grange they paid $200 for in a garage sale should be aware of the risk involved too.”
