Havven launches platform to promote DIY experts, encourage better living: Havven.com.au

Havven Pty Ltd earlier this month announced the launch of their website, Havven.com.au. The new website is a platform for DIY experts to showcase their work and gain exposure. Contributors can post tutorials and other do-it-yourself advice on a weekly basis. Havven is also a place for hobbyists to find inspiration. It's especially appealing to people who believe DIY can lead to better living.

According to Jade Sheedy, creator of Havven, exposing people to DIY gives them the tools they need to reduce consumption and curb spending. As a free resource with an economical and green ethos, Havven addresses the desire for better living through the sharing of DIY ideas.

“Havven is a collaborative venture,” says Sheedy. It benefits both the content contributors and the website's growing audience. Experts get credit for everything they contribute to Havven. They're encouraged to link to their own websites and are featured in Havven social media.

Besides showcasing professionals, Sheedy wants Havven to showcase DIY itself, and promote it as a budget- and eco-friendly form of art. Her perspective is due partly to her experience as a buyer of home furnishings and décor. “There are so many pretty things that I want to buy but can't afford . . . so I started to DIY and was surprised.” Sheedy set a goal to launch Havven, which now aims to spread the benefits of DIY by featuring expert advice.

Ben Uyeda, from homemade-modern.com, is a Havven DIY expert contributor with a philosophy similar to Sheedy's. He shares professional insights and a tutorial in his guest post titled “DIY Concrete Pendant Light”.

Rosemary of pickmeorganisers.com is another expert contributor to Havven. She explains an organisation strategy in her guest post titled “Organise Your Life with this Simple System”.

Havven will feature exclusive DIY project kits and other promotions like product giveaways. Right now, their focus is to promote the website launch and to generate excitement about living better with DIY. Sheedy thinks their slogan communicates the right message: “State of home. State of mind.”
