SolarMax set for further growth in Australia with new appointment

​New Technical Sales Support Engineer appointed to oversee pre-sales technical support and customer education

Sydney, Australia, 3 April, 2014: In a strategic move to strengthen customer support in Australia, SolarMax has today announced the appointment of Kersten Schmidt as its Technical Sales Support Engineer in a newly created role that will oversee SolarMax’s partner education and pre-sales technical support.

Schmidt will be responsible for supporting all pre-sales and engineering activity, customer training and assisting customers and partners in designing a suitable PV system to meet their specific needs. He will report to Derek Durham, Regional Manager East and will work with Gavin Merchant, Key Account Manager on a day to day basis.

Durham said, “We are delighted to have such an experienced professional join our local team. With Kersten’s engineering and technical knowledge, along with his background in Australia’s solar PV industry, we are confident that SolarMax will be geared for further growth and expansion in Australia.”

Schmidt is a Certified Project Manager and has over 14 years of experience in solar PV systems engineering, management and sales support. Prior to SolarMax, he worked as an engineering and project management executive for major energy generation companies in Darwin, Melbourne, Sydney and Coffs Harbour. Schmidt’s company experience includes BP Solar, Powercorp and Si Clean Energy.
