Largest Private Collection of Motoring Books and Journals Under the Hammer

What is thought to be the most extensive private collection of automobile books magazines in Australia is now going under the hammer.

A keen historian, Barry Lake accumulated a vast repository of specialised books and magazines on motoring history and thousands of motoring journals. Lake was well known in the Australian motoring industry as a competition driver, road tester, reporter and later editor of Motor magazine.

Lake passed away in 2012.

The auctions are expected to drive strong interest from those in the motor industry and motoring fans.

The collection will be sold through a number of timed online auctions through O’Maras Valuers & Auctioneers. Theses online auctions are facilitated by Proxibid – the world’s largest online marketplace for buying and selling high-value and specialised assets.
