Spherion has appointed Brian Powell as country manager of its New Zealand recruitment operation

Spherion Group has appointed Brian Powell as country manager of its New Zealand operation.

In his new role, Brian will be primarily focused on Spherions recruitment business and developing strategic local partnerships. He aims to increase market share and to position Spherion as a leader in the IT recruitment sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for me personally, and for Spherion Recruitment Solutions. I have no doubt that there is a real opportunity for us to increase our market share in the highly competitive local IT recruitment market, said Brian Powell.

Brian has extensive experience in New Zealands human resource market. Before joining Spherion, Brian was regional manager at IT@Manpower. Brian has also worked locally for TMP, Robert Walters, and the Rob Law Consulting Group.

Spherion is committed to growing its business and increasing investment in the New Zealand market through local talent. Brians appointment will build on the position and experience Spherion has developed in New Zealand over the past four years.

Prior to working in the recruitment industry, Brian was regional manager, Network Design and Build for Telecom New Zealand. Brian has spent time coaching in the New Zealand National Basketball League and also coached at Washington State University, which play in the US NCAA Division 1 competition.

Brian has an NZCE (Elect), TTC and Diploma in Advanced Telecommunications.
