CellOPark Australia announced today that their leading-edge app and phone based solution for parking payments has been deployed by the City of Canada Bay.
SYDNEY, New South Wales, Monday 12th May, 2014 — CellOPark Australia announced today that their leading-edge app and phone based solution for parking payments has been deployed by the City of Canada Bay. Motorists parking on the streets around Concord Hospital will have the option to complete a one-time registration process and easily pay their parking fees via the free CellOPark smartphone app or by making a local phone call, removing the need to place a paper ticket on their dashboard or find loose change for traditional Pay & Display machines.
“CellOPark is Australia’s market leader in Pay-by-App and Pay-By-Phone parking and we are constantly innovating as well as working to expand our member base” Said Michael Doherty, General Manager of CellOPark Australia. “We are excited to be selected by the City of Canada Bay as a technology partner and are very pleased to be able to offer our solution, that is enjoyed by members in other states, to motorists here in our home state of New South Wales”
Canada Bay motorists will be some of the first in the country to experience CellOPark’s new QR code technology that makes the already simple process of starting a paid parking session with a smartphone even easier. To use CellOPark, motorists install a free app (native on apple iOS and Google Android) on their smartphone and register; vehicle, phone and payment details to create an account. Starting a paid parking session is then simply a matter of selecting the parking zone and pressing ‘START’ or pointing the phones camera at a QR code on CellOPark zone signage. Non smartphone users can also enjoy the convenience of the CellOPark system by registering for free at www.cellopark.com.au and parking by calling (02) 8599 9747 and following the prompts. City of Canada Bay parking officers will enforce the ticketless parking by checking vehicle licence plates in the system using their own internet connected devices. The technology is being deployed initially as a 6 moth trial.
“We know from discussions with many NSW councils that the uptake as well as motorist feedback regarding the deployment of our technology here is of great interest. CellOPark has been in use for some time in other locations around Australia and we know that the motoring public make the change from the coins and never look back” Said Doherty. “The City of Canada Bay has a great reputation for applying innovative solutions to the challenges faced by local government and we appreciate this opportunity to showcase CellOPark with them.”
CellOPark Australia was selected by the city based on experience, value and proven ability to deliver high quality customer service and communication both online and via its Australian Registration and Support Centre (1300 GO PARK)
