A man’s journey: from performance cars to wedding photography app

Announcement posted by Orange Digital 21 May 2014

Remember weddings with disposable cameras? Now there's an app for that!

Who says guys don’t know anything about organising weddings?

An unlikely trio of performance car mechanics from North Brisbane have just launched Wedsta - a smartphone app that gathers everybody’s wedding pics into one glorious album.

The Wedsta app collects images from the guests’ smartphones and arranges them into a simple online gallery for everyone to see.

“It’s not meant to replace the traditional wedding photographer,” says Damian Tomasich, one of the app’s creators. “It’s about a different view of your wedding day, through the eyes of your friends. Casual photos can make the best memories. Especially the candid ones!”

The big benefit of Wedsta for newlyweds is that they no longer have to track down guests afterwards see their photos. Instead, they can either notify guests before wedding day about how to download the app, or use special table cards on the day that gives people all the info they need to snap and upload.

“It’s really easy to use and upload photos,” says Mr. Tomasich. “That was the big thing for us. It’s simple and fun. We wanted to create a smartphone app that wedding guests actually want to use without hassles. Otherwise it’s all too hard and they won’t bother.”

The app is free for guests to use, and a one-off cost of $99 for the bride and groom is a price the creators think is well worth it. The payment allows for storage of all the photos for up to one year from the date of the wedding, and photos can be easily downloaded for their personal album.

Wedsta is available now at www.wedsta.com on iPhone (5+), iPad and Android.
