Queensland Authority Approves Adobe Certifications for QCE Credits

Announcement posted by That Quirky PR Company 28 May 2014

Brisbane, Australia—Scenario-based training, certification and educational services leader IC Central announced today that the Queensland Studies Authority (QSA), has approved and now recognises Adobe Certified Associate exams as credit towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

This added accreditation of the Adobe exams complements earlier QCE approval of Microsoft Office Certification exams.

“This is a huge move forward to advancing Australia’s efforts to engage and provide students with a more comprehensive and meaningful educational experience,” said IC Central CEO JB Tinker. “We work with schools, TAFEs and universities throughout Queensland, and the rest of Australia, identifying Australia’s top visual communicators, and now that this certification program has been QSA approved, it’s going to provide more opportunities for students to develop another layer of skills during their academic pursuits.”

As part of the approval, students can gain one credit, in the Enrichment category of Learning, for each Adobe exam they pass, according to QSA. “Becoming a Certified Associate helps students stand apart from their peers, boosts confidence, and expands their career opportunities,” said Adobe Senior Education Advocate Dr. Tim Kitchen. Kitchen added that Adobe being present in the classroom is “absolutely vital” as students learn to be more creative in their thinking processes, and preparing themselves for how they collaborate with other people in the 21st century workplace.

Under the “Enrichment” Category of Learning, the QCE credit recognition will remain valid from now until its review in 2020, and include Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro exams.
