ROXBY DOWNS BRANCH ON THE MOVE

The Roxby Downs branch of Beyond Bank Australia will move from Roxby Central Mall to Tutop Plaza from Monday 28 April.

General Manager, Distribution, Ray O’Brien says the move has been prompted by the lease for the existing branch expiring and a review of the customer-owned bank’s operations in the Roxby Downs region.

"We will remain centrally located at Tutop Plaza and we will be offering a new banking experience which our research shows will better respond to our customers’ requirements and make ourselves more accessible to the community outside of the branch," Mr O’Brien said.

"Our staff, led by Branch Manager Gareth Toms, will be able to assist and support customers by building stronger relationships with them and delivering a holistic approach to their lending, saving and wealth management needs.

"Gareth will also be available to visit customers in their own homes and after hours, depending on their requirements to deliver a more streamlined and convenient loan application process."

Mr O’Brien said customers would be able to access the same range of Beyond Bank Australia products and services in Roxby Downs, however from April 28 cash withdrawals would be conducted via the redi-ATM network (three ATMs available in the Roxby Downs township) and EFTPOS facilities. Any personal cash deposits would be made via Australia Post using Bank@Post.

"Our review found customers were not using the branch for these cash-based transactions, which reflects the widespread changes to the way Australians are banking now that we can access our funds 24 hours a day via our smartphones and other portable devices, along with ATMs," he said.

"That has substantially reduced the need for in-branch cash transactions and as a customer-focused financial institution, we firmly believe in delivering services that meet our customers’ requirements."

Mr O’Brien said Beyond Bank Australia was also committed to working closely with charitable and community groups to further strengthen the community spirit in Roxby Downs.

"As well as strengthening ties with customers, Gareth Toms will also be reaching out to our community partners and other local charities and not-for-profit groups offering banking solutions and other assistance to help them continue delivering much-needed services to the people of Roxby Downs," he said.

"For example, our Community Reward Account can help groups fundraise with Beyond Bank donating a payment, which is calculated as a percentage of the annual average balance to the nominated group each year. All groups have to do is encourage their members and volunteers to open a Community Reward Account and nominate the group as their preferred charity."
