Make the most of having a clear head this Dry July and break a record

Announcement posted by Dry July 17 Jun 2014

Two weeks until Dry July – sign up now!

It’s only two weeks until the start of Dry July, the fundraiser that challenges you to go booze-free for a month to support adults living with cancer.  As well as raising funds for a fantastic cause, Dry July is the opportunity to have 31 gloriously hangover-free days.  Imagine what you could achieve with a clear head and a spring in your step every day for a whole month?!  To demonstrate the benefits of being hangover-free, Dry July is embarking on a challenge to break as many records as possible throughout July and attributing them to our sobriety.

We’d love you to join us and set your own goal for Dry July.  That may be as simple as going booze-free for 31 days or getting to the gym three times a week; or you might want to break a world record.  Sign up to Dry July and share your goal on Facebook and Twitter with #DryJulyGoal – we’d also love to see photos and videos of your attempts at breaking some records.  For inspiration of records to break, visit: http://au.dryjuly.com/tools/try-july.  To get you in the spirit and to prepare for Dry July in style, we’ll be attempting the World’s Biggest Smoothie at Customs House Square, Circular Quay in Sydney on 30th June from 8.00am so if you’re in the area, come along and say hi.

Dry July is again supported by a stellar line-up of ambassadors who’ve pledged to go booze-free in support of adults living with cancer.  Media personality Adam Spencer is leading the charge and is again joined by regular DJs; Maz Compton, Chris Bath, Danielle Cormack, Justin Langer, Roy Billing, Michala Banas, Jana Pittman, Ed ‘Fast Ed’ Halmagyi and Brendan Cowell.  For the first time, these seasoned abstainers are joined by Ben Mingay, Casey Burgess, Marcus Bondi, Kyran Wheatley, Tony Squires, Ryan Girdler, James Speed and Mark ‘Squinty’ Leonard.

“Dry July is a great opportunity to put yourself first and achieve something you may have been putting off,” says Brett Macdonald, Dry July co-founder.  “So many of our participants take the opportunity to make lifestyle changes anyway so this year we’re encouraging everyone to make the most of being hangover-free and set a personal goal.  Or if you fancy a bit more of a challenge, why not see if you can break a record.”

Dry July improves the wellbeing of adult cancer patients by providing funds to create better services and environments for them and their families.  In the six Dry July campaigns to-date, 65,000+ participants have collectively raised over $15m AUD, helping us support 37 different cancer services across Australia and New Zealand.  This year Dry July is proud to be supporting 40 beneficiaries across Australia and New Zealand.
