Announcement posted by La Trobe Financial 19 Jun 2014

Recognising Australia’s marketing and advertising excellence across the $1.8 trillion wealth management industry, the Rainmaker MAX Awards were held in Sydney last night at the Doltone House Hyde Park attended by over 300 guests.

The MAX (Marketing and Excellence) Awards, which are an initiative of the Rainmaker Group, have been running for 19 years and are considered among the most significant awards for marketing and sales professionals operating in the industry. This year’s Awards achieved a record-breaking 25,000 votes for the finalists in each of the 20 categories totalling 100 Finalists and 20 winners.

La Trobe Financial was recognised this year for the second year running (in 2013 for Best Public Relations campaign – CIO/COO Awards), with La Trobe Financial’s Marketing & Media Manager, Caterina Nesci, taking out Marketer of the Year Investment Management and also as a finalist for a second category – Best Public Relations Campaign – How investing should be.

Caterina has worked with La Trobe Financial for the past four years. Previously she worked in Hong Kong as a Client Relationship Consultant for Hogan Lovells, one of the largest fullservice global law firms. At Hogan Lovells she was responsible for major client relationship management of organisations such as Morgan Stanley, Credit Agricole, BNP Paribas and Standard Chartered. Since commencing at La Trobe Financial she has been responsible for all events and media including the La Trobe Financial conceived CIO/COO Industry Awards, all associated group media releases and public relations campaigns the most notable being La Trobe Financial’s memorable “How investing should be” campaign which included a series of successful press, radio and TV advertisements that ran primarily on Foxtel Business.

La Trobe Financial’s President & CEO Mr Greg O’Neill commenting from South Korea where he is part of an Industry Trade Delegation said, “being up against the likes of Legg Mason Asset Management, Tyndall Asset Management and Zurich Financial Services was a tough draw. Cat deserves this recognition for all her hard work and we congratulate her. However it is also important to remember that whilst one person receives the award nomination it really is a team effort that delivers such achievements and Cat would be the first person to acknowledge this.”

Caterina stated, ”I am so proud and honoured and humbled to be recognised by my peers in this way. If it wasn’t for the magnificent team that I work with at La Trobe Financial and the support I achieve from all staff and the management team this could never have been achieved… a feeling like the Socceroo’s Tim Cahill kicking a goal at the World Cup for Australia”. Later she remarked that, ”…La Trobe Financial should also be named as Employer of the Year” …and said with a big smile that she is already working on this project.

Randal Williams, Chief Wealth Management Officer at La Trobe Financial, noted, “Cat has been a highly valued member of our team since starting four years ago and has achieved a great deal. However, I truly believe her best work is still to come so we all need to watch this space. She has a number of great attributes but her belief in our team and the products and services we offer are magnificent and inspire every employee; that’s what makes the company so successful… belief in each other to do better today than we did yesterday and to improve the position of others.”
