Mint achieves significant operational milestones and secures new distribution partner

Announcement posted by Mint Wireless 16 Jul 2014

16 July 2014:  Mint Wireless Limited (ASX:MNW) (“Mint” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce it has secured a new distribution partner and achieved significant operational milestones, including committed orders for 15,000 user licenses from new and existing distribution partners.

With the Chip & PIN mandate coming into effect from August 2014 in Australia and October 2014 in New Zealand, the demand for Mint’s PCI compliant mobile payment solutions has accelerated. MYOB is Mint’s first customer to introduce the Company’s new EMV-compliant Chip & PIN card reader on 7 July 2014 through its popular mobile payments solution, MYOB PayDirect.

Mint is also seeing an increased interest and demand for Mint’s open payments platform from enterprise customers looking for a seamlessly integrated payment solution that can easily be combined with their existing point of sale systems (either fixed or cloud based) and ERP systems. A number of future enhancements were unveiled in July 2014 and Mint’s updated product roadmap includes loyalty programs, enhanced product customisation for vertical industry customers, geo-location functionality, analytics, mobile wallets, support for Card Not Present transactions, the ability to integrate additional hardware and the expansion of Mint Wireless’ wholesale merchant acquiring partner agreements with banks.

Robin Khuda, Chief Executive Officer at Mint Wireless said, “We are pleased with our achievements and momentum generated over the past three months. Mint is now well positioned to capitalise on its disruptive technologies that are driving innovation within the financial services industry.”

Mint has entered into an agreement with WolfStrike where it will offer integrated payments across multiple mobile devices under WolfStrike’s own brand to customers across Australia. WolfStrike’s customers will be able to turn their iOS or Android devices into fully featured credit and debit card payment systems and accept payments anywhere, anytime.

Ian Bailey, CEO of WolfStrike said, “WolfStrike is delighted to be partnering with Mint who have an admirable track record in delivering mobile payment solutions rapidly for customers. This partnership will allow us to further demonstrate innovation in the market and simplify the value proposition for mobile payments to our customers.”

Mr Khuda added, “Mint’s agreement with WolfStrike demonstrates the robustness of Mint’s payments platform that can be used by various customers with diverse requirements.”

“Through a $10 million capital injection from our institutional investors in May 2014, Mint has ramped up the company’s sales and marketing efforts and product development initiatives. This will enable Mint to fulfill its vision of becoming the most innovative mobile payments platform in Asia Pacific.”
