Teknowledge Focuses On Travel-Based Mobile Apps

Announcement posted by Teknowledge software 23 Jul 2014

New and improved versions of several travel-oriented applications would be released in 2014-15 by Teknowledge Software. In addition, the company would be launching multiple new apps belonging to the same genre - in the coming months.

Teknowledge Software, a fast-growing cross-platform mobile apps company, has announced a new agenda for the 2014-15 fiscal year. In the coming months, it would be launching new travel-based applications. Upgraded versions of existing travelers’ apps would also be released.

In keeping with its standing as a multinational organization, Teknowledge already has a slew of travel-related mobile applications in its portfolio. Among them, the ‘Stopover’ app - conceptualised by Amber Blumanis (COO of Teks Mobile Australia) warrants a special mention. It was launched a few months back, and has already been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Talent Unleashed’ awards. Early next year, an upgrade on ‘Stopover’ is expected.

Even before the Australian chapter of Teknowledge had opened, the mobile app development company had been involved in making international travel-oriented apps. ‘Dhofer’ was one of these early projects - focused on travel information in Oman. Although it wasn’t one of the company’s many successes, Teknowledge has plans to revamp it during this financial year. The developers have undertaken extensive research to find out what went wrong with the original version of ‘Dhofer’, and are all set to launch a more user-friendly, advanced version.

The travel-based apps of Teknowledge are not only about providing information to tourists. A couple of months back, the Android/iPhone app development company launched ‘Pocket Navigator’ - an app that serves as a virtual navigator for cyclists as well as walkers. The in-house developers at the company would be increasing the geographical coverage of the app in the coming months, depending on the feedback received from users. At present, the mobile app analytics figures of ‘Pocket Navigator’ are being closely monitored.

In a recent press conference, the CEO of Teknowledge mobile apps company highlighted the importance of maintaining high quality standards in all the upgraded versions of apps in the pipeline. He correctly pointed out that, convenience, utility, and glitch-free operational features are the three key points that bolster any app’s popularity. Teks is acknowledged as a setter of new benchmarks in the domain of app development - and it is going to make its existing travel apps even better than before.

Preliminary plans are also in place for a few new travel-oriented mobile applications. Teknowledge would be collaborating with the Assam state government, to create a customized application that would provide end-to-end information to all tourists over there. The mobile app developers have already sent a proposal and a presentation to the state tourism department. As soon as the green signal arrives from the authorities, work on the app (tentatively titled ‘Destination Assam’) would start. The company CEO is deliberating on the chances of making a similar app for West Bengal too. If these two mobile applications materialize and are successful, Teknowledge would develop dedicated applications for travelers to Australia and the United States as well.

To ensure that the new apps score high on the reliability count, they would be rigorously tested prior to launch. The mobile app testing would involve focused trials over the cloud network as well. All geographical information stored in the database of each app would be updated on a real-time basis. That way, people won’t be misled by outdated information - often a bane of general travel websites.

It can pretty much be taken for granted that the new versions of ‘Stopover’ and ‘Pocket Navigator’ would find favor among regular travelers. It would be more interesting to watch how Teknowledge goes about developing the tourism apps based on Indian states. If the company is indeed successful in its endeavors, foreign travelers to the sub-continent would be delighted!
