Factiva and PeopleSoft Team Up

Launching with 30 day preview of Factiva global content

Factiva, a Dow Jones and Reuters Company, announced today that PeopleSoft, Inc. has joined the Factiva Partner Network. Under this agreement, Factiva will provide an integrated content solution for the PeopleSoft 8.4 Enterprise Portal application. Through Factiva Search Module and Factiva Track Module, global news and business information have been integrated as Web services into the PeopleSoft 8.4 Enterprise Portal. The best-in-class, open portal solution embeds PeopleSofts business expertise to enable the fastest possible deployment.

PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal customers can now maximise their portal investment by providing users with access to Factivas content consisting of nearly 6,000 world-class news and business information sources. Users gain the ability to research and track key customers, competitors and business topics without leaving their portal. This seamless integration presents the users with relevant business information within the framework of their daily workflows, allowing employees to work smarter and more productively.

Partnering with PeopleSoft gives customers access to world class business content from Factiva, said Clare Hart, president and CEO of Factiva. Now PeopleSoft customers have the powerful portal technology required to unify business processes in real-time and the global business content to support their information infrastructure and enterprise decision-making needs.

Factiva represents a great example of how leading content providers can use Web services to effectively distribute content through the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal, said Peter Gassner, vice president and general manager of PeopleSofts Technology division. This transparent Web service based integration enables PeopleSofts Enterprise Portal users to directly associate relevant Factiva information along key decision points within a business process. This allows users to be more effective decision makers.

The Factiva Search Module enables users to search Factivas archive and retrieve information on many business topics. Factiva Track Module enables companies to set up current awareness news folders to deliver relevant, profiled news and business information on their industry, competitors or any key topics that affect their business decisions. User interfaces to these services are available in English, French and German, making it valuable for global companies and multilingual users.

The Factiva Partner Network, which includes leading organisations such as IBM, Microsoft, Plumtree Software, Epicentric and Oracle, reinforces Factivas commitment to provide customers with integrated targeted news and business information that fits the individual products own workflow and platform. Through the Network, Factiva partners with software developers to provide easy integration into common enterprise applications.
