Probax Version 1.0 Has Arrived

The Beta version of Probax went live in October, 2013, and gave IT channel partners and MSP's the ability to manage different types of backups from a simple, easy to use interface. Since the initial release, hundreds of new and existing Corporate Backup partners have been using the Probax platform to manage the offsite component of their ShadowProtect and Veeam backups, as well as being able to sync NAS devices and manage file backups with the FilePLUS software.

Managed service providers have been turning to Probax to simplify their management of multiple backup types, as well as having access to cost effective, highly-available storage on Australian servers.

So what's new in version 1.0?

The Introduction of Baxter and his Backup Status Reports!

Overall Backup Status is represented by a graph in the Probax CONTROL portal. Our new mascot named “Baxter” is also there to offer Resellers tips to fix common problems through a new support area called “Baxter’s Box”.

Email Reporting

Server side email reports can now be scheduled. Resellers get a backup report sent by email which summarises all of the users backup statuses. The same can be done for end users who would like to see their backup reports.

Storage Plans

Resellers can set storage plans for their accounts which are the usage combination of all users and storage locations under their account. Storage Plans also come with an RRP dollar value which only the Reseller will see. Resellers are still able to set their own rates, Probax simply suggests a good place to start with pricing.

Billing Report

After Resellers have set their Storage Plans, they can then view Billing Reports. This gives Resellers a breakdown of all of their Accounts and the RRPs of what they should be paying.

Drive Seeds

Drive seeds are now done through Probax CONTROL. Using the new Seed Truck makes seeding easier and faster than ever before.

FILEPLUS integration

Resellers who already know our File/Exchange/SQL Backup software simply as “the Corporate Backup software” but this has now been rebranded as Probax FILEPLUS. Resellers can now use Probax CONTROL to create these users, as well as monitor the status of all backup sets.

Storage in Melbourne

We have storage available at NextDC’s M1 facility in Port Melbourne and Probax CONTROL now gives Resellers an easier view as to where their data is stored. It is the same fast, High-Availability storage that partners are used to in our Perth DC. Resellers can also have storage for a user in more than one location for the purpose of having geographic separation.

Cloud-side Retention

Resellers have the ability to set their own ShadowProtect Cloud Retention inside the Probax CONTROL portal.  Rolling consolidation and a smaller number of restore points are also available to reduce consumption and make recovery easier.

Veeam integration

We allow resellers to replicate their backup data using either Veeam Cloud Edition or standard Veeam B&R. We are preparing for the upcoming release of Veeam v8 and will update the market when this is available.
