Jazzed up Shiraz from Shaw Vineyard Estate
Canberra’s Shaw Vineyard Estate is pleased to release the first of their Estate reds under their new label design - the Shaw Vineyard Estate 2012 Shiraz (RRP$25). Indulge and delight in this “Jazzed Up” Shiraz from the spectacular cool-climate family owned estate in the heart of the Canberra District, a variety the highly regarded District is known for.
Based on the historic “Olleville” property in Murrumbateman, Shaw Vineyard Estate has been producing premium cool-climate wines at affordable prices for almost two decades. And this latest release is no exception…
Presented in Shaw Vineyard Estate’s new contemporary packaging, the 2012 Estate Shiraz flaunts all the elements, both in and outside the bottle, of a superior Shiraz. The wine displays rich, deep purple colouring and aromas exhibiting ripe berry fruits accompanied by spice and pepper notes. A sophisticated and balanced palate follows, with soft ripe tannins complimenting the finish.
Family owned and operated, the Shaw family estate boasts 85 acres of vines with some of the District’s most enviable growing conditions, elevated higher than most vineyards in the region. Owner Graeme Shaw notes that “Although it was a difficult vintage due to high rainfall we were able to carefully select the best parcels of fruit from the vineyard to create this lovely smooth cool climate Shiraz.”
