LIQUORUN KNOWS WHAT YOU WANT BY YOUR POSTCODE

Announcement posted by Bradford Public Relations 21 Aug 2014

MELBOURNE, TUESDAY AUGUST 19, 2014:  Melbourne hipsters in Fitzroy prefer craft beer while trendsetters in South Yarra have a preference for vodka according to the latest data released by on-demand delivery service Liquorun.

And it's not just alcohol they're having delivered with many people taking advantage of the service to have fast food and cigarettes delivered after hours.

"Since we began delivering eight months ago, we've seen some very definite preferences for after hours delivery based on suburbs," Liquorun founder Joel Macdonald said.

"For example, it's craft beer in Fitzroy, vodka in South Yarra and cigarettes in Richmond," he said.

"And it seems Peroni is Melbourne's favourite beer, being far and away the most request beer brand by both the case and six pack."

Mr Macdonald said Saturday night is the busiest night of the week, but said he'd been surprised that Monday nights were second busiest on average.

"We've been able to ramp up drivers numbers for those night to make sure people can get what they want, when they want it."

Started in November 2013 by former Melbourne Demons footballer Joel Macdonald, Liquorun has grown rapidly from a niche alcohol after hours delivery service, to an on demand delivery service for just about anything that can fit into a passenger vehicle, including boutique fast food.

Some of Melbourne's coolest new fast food outlets such as Huxtaburger, Fonda, Acland Street Cantina, Boston Sub and Mr Burger have all made their menus available for delivery through Liquorun.

"It's an obvious match and people can have their favourite fast food and alcohol delivered at the one time - the combination of the two aspects is proving really popular," Mr Macdonald said.

Liquorun currently operates in inner-Melbourne, but plans to be operating in Sydney and Brisbane before the end of the year.
