Create a Free Donation When You Shop Online

Announcement posted by Global Fundraising Initiative 03 Sep 2014

The Global Fundraising Initiative, helping others to reach out and help for free

On our way to work, opening a newspaper, turning on the television or even catching up with friends, we are confronted everyday with requests for financial support from one of the many charities which are doing incredible work across our country helping out those in the greatest of need.

There are so many good causes for people to support but only limited ability to assist that it can be nearly overwhelming in deciding who receives your donation assistance.

The Global Fundraising Initiative, http://www.globalfundraisinginitiative.com, is an online aggregate product and shopping portal that turns the advertising dollars paid by the companies advertising on their site into free donations to charity from the people who shop and buy online.

Similar to businesses such as iSelect or Credit Card Finder, the Initiative is paid an acquisition fee or sales commission by the advertiser for each sign up or sale generated.  The difference between these and other similar companies and the Initiative, is that the Initiative in turns pays the majority of the advertiser payment as a charitable donation.

The consumer purchasing the product has the option of registering their details so that the donation from the Initiative can be paid to the Charity in their name.  The consumer can also elect to have the donation paid anonymously if they wish to protect their privacy.

Products available to be purchased or signed up to include Broadband accounts, Electricity, Mobile Phones, Credit Cards and general online shopping products.

“The Initiative has created a way for people to continue to support their favourite charity financially for free”, said Mr Alex Jordan, CEO of the Global Fundraising Initiative.  “Where other companies that provide a platform such as ours keep all the money they earn from advertisers for product sign ups and online shopping, the Initiative benefits the actual shopper by enabling them to direct a donation to their favourite Charity and be rewarded for it.  They are, after all, the ones who are doing the shopping.”

The Initiative works with all Charities, providing each organisation with a free branded version of the Initiative product and shopping website.  The Initiative meets all costs of the website for the charity and pays 100% of the relevant product donation to the respective Charity.

Consumers purchasing products are required to select their preferred Charity first before they can select the products they wish to sign up to or buy.

“Making consumers select their Charity first enables those charities wishing to actively promote their branded version of the Initiative website, maintain the relationship with their existing supporters”, added Mr Jordan.  “By having consumers find their products first and then choose the Charity at the end only benefits the big name Charities that can afford the big media and marketing budgets”.

Donations payable to the Charities by the Initiative are static according to each product category.

“We made the donation amount the same for each product within a category to ensure all companies could participate and to make the product purchasing decision made by the consumer based on the product benefits and not on the amount donated”, said Mr Jordan.

All communication to donors and supporters is managed by the relevant Charity within their existing marketing communication strategies with no personal information being supplied to the Global Fundraising Initiative  to ensure that no ‘begging’ emails or letters are sent by Initiative or participating companies and to protect the Charity’s data integrity and the donors privacy.

The Initiative will be operating its own marketing programme, driving users to the relevant Charity versions of the website.

Recognising that not all people buy their products such as a mobile phone at the same time, the Initiative will be providing a registration option for people to sign up for a reminder email at a time they are ready to buy their product.

Consumers will be able to specify a product and a month they wish to be emailed to remind them about the Initiative.

The Global Fundraising Initiative has officially launched.

At a time of ‘heavy lifting’ costs for average Australians and an anticipated huge increase in demand for charity support, particularly with the accelerated declined of manufacturing, The Global Fundraising Initiative, enables average Australians to be generous and socially responsible without the pain, embarrassment and hardship of making commitments that are hard or impossible to keep.

Focussing initially on Charity and Not for Profit organisations, the Global Fundraising Initiative will be shortly expanding their service provision to include other groups including schools and sporting associations.

The Global Fundraising Initiative is launching initially in Australia prior to expanding its service internationally.

Charity and Not for Profit organisations interested in participating in the Global Fundraising Initiative should contact the Initiative on 02 8041 8901 or info@globalfundraisinginitiative.com
