Brumbies to be known once again as the Computer Associates Brumbies

Announcement posted by CA (enterprise) 10 Dec 2003

In a major boost to the ACT Brumbies ahead of the 2004 Super 12 season, long term partner Computer Associates has committed to being the naming rights sponsor for the next two years.
Computer Associates has been involved with the Brumbies since 1996 and were naming rights sponsor from 1998 through to 2002.
ACT Rugby CEO Rob Clarke says today's announcement is a great step forward for the team and the Union.
"Computer Associates is a foundation partner of the Brumbies and true friends of ACT Rugby. They are a part of this place and we're simply delighted that they've expressed their ongoing commitment by taking the naming rights sponsorship of the Brumbies for the next two years." said Clarke.
"We work with them on a local, regional, national and international basis. They understand us and we understand them. We share the same values and attitudes and everyone at ACT Rugby, from the players to the administration, are thrilled about their commitment. It's a big lift for everyone."
During the eight year association between the Brumbies and Computer Associates the two organisations have developed a close understanding and alliance.
"We like to think that we have helped them achieve some of their goals over the years and they have most definitely helped us. We're looking forward to working closely with them for many years to come," said Clarke.
"Not only is it a financial boost to the organisation but the established brand value between the two organisations is extremely powerful."
Computer Associates Managing Director, John Ruthven says the decision to return to the front of the jersey was an easy one.
"CA has been a significant sponsor since the Brumbies were founded and we are very proud to have our name displayed on the jersey of a team that has contributed so much to Australian rugby," said Ruthven.
"CA has supported the Brumbies for so long that to some extent it is engrained in the company. Their success on a weekend translates into the workplace on a Monday - it makes us stand a little taller, and conversely we despair in their defeats. That's what real sports sponsorship is about."
"We are glad to be back on board as the CA Brumbies and we are looking forward to a great season ahead for the team and both organisations."
The CA Brumbies will play Super 12 Champions the Blues from Auckland in the opening match of the season at Canberra Stadium on Saturday 21 February.
