Arts Centre Melbourne goes High Tech with iBeacon

Arts Centre Melbourne is recognised as one of the world’s premier performing arts centres, and now it is one of the first global arts venues to trial new smart technology aimed at engaging patrons via their smartphone.

During the Melbourne Festival from 10th to 26th October Arts Centre Melbourne will pilot iProximity’s iBeacon, a new technology that triggers great food and drink offers from Arts Centre Melbourne’s venues.

The offers include a free glass or wine with a meal purchase at Café Vic, happy hour prices at Curve Bar and a free Cookie at Cento.

Visitors can download the coupon to their smartphone by either texting ‘Arts’ to 0459 111 333, or by visiting the Melbourne Festival page on the Arts Centre Melbourne’s website: http://www. artscentremelbourne.com.au/discover/promos/melbourne-festival-food-and-beverage-discounts 

Once the coupon has been downloaded, it is geo-locationally targeted to ‘pop up’ when in range of one of the available offers. This convenient reminder enables visitors to take advantage of the special promotions and to celebrate the Melbourne Festival.
