Oxygen8 selected by the Australian Government as key company in Mobile Panel providing greater access and communications for citizens

Announcement posted by Oxygen8 Communications Australia PTY Ltd 21 Oct 2014

Sydney, Australia: 21st October 2014

Oxygen8, the global provider of integrated mobile solutions, has been selected by the Australian Government as part of the newly-formed Mobile Panel to embrace mobile technology to increase public sector and national productivity through enabling more convenient, easy-to-use services, and facilitating open engagement with citizens, communities and businesses.

The Mobile Panel seeks to address existing and future needs of Government entities for their adoption of mobile technologies, deliver efficiencies, and reduce the cost of supply for service providers. The ultimate aim is to support Government agencies to achieve the aims of the Australian Public Service Mobile Roadmap.

“The Australian Government is moving ahead with mobility and we’re one of the key providers for them. To pass the rigorous requirements of the Government tender process and be one of the few chosen companies gives us massive credibility. It’s a huge vote of confidence in Oxygen8 and the services that it provides,” says Louise Ford, CEO of Oxygen8 Australia. “Citizens are demanding that the Government interacts with them via their mobile device, and Oxygen8 is one company that is delivering on this requirement.”

The Mobile Panel replaces the Telecommunications Commodities, Carriage, and Associated Services Panel, (TCCAS) established in 2011, which awarded over 129 contracts worth AU$46 million.

“Being selected for the Mobile Panel means that Oxygen8 is now working with Governments around the world,” says Gary Corbett, Chairman of the Oxygen8 Group. “Australia is the latest big win for us, and follows on from Oxygen8 working with the Education Ministry and British Commission in Kenya, with Eskom in South Africa, and FAS in Ireland.”

News of Oxygen8’s first contract under the Mobile Panel will be released in the coming weeks.
