Sydney, 30 October 2014: LexisNexis today announced the launch of Lexis Affinity™ 6.0, the latest version of its successful Lexis Affinity practice management system. Lexis Affinity 6.0 provides access to client and matter information, as well as time and fee recording on a range of mobile devices through the Lexis Affinity portal. Together with Affinity’s improved Outlook integration capabilities Affinity 6.0 offers firms across the Asia-Pacific region the opportunity to improve workflow efficiency, productivity and client delivery.

“Client demand is forcing law firms to be more productive and to deliver high-quality, accurate work on the go; to be able to measure and charge accordingly and reduce their monthly write-offs,” notes James Parker, Executive Director – Practice Management, LexisNexis. “Improving work-place mobility with solutions such as Lexis Affinity is the key trend we are seeing from law firms throughout Asia and the Pacific region.”

In bringing this new version of Lexis Affinity to market, LexisNexis have been working closely with early adopter firms such as Coulter Roache Lawyers to shape and develop the new features of Affinity 6.0, in direct response to the current and future needs of firms across the Pacific legal market.

The LexisNexis early adopter program allows firms the opportunity to gain early competitive advantages as Wes Heywood, IT Manager of Coulter Roache Lawyers explains. “An efficient and effective practice management system that enables our lawyers to concentrate on legal work, and not stress about account and file management, gives us a key competitive advantage”, says Mr Heywood. “Easy access to a client’s contact details for calling and emailing ‘on the go’, and the ability to record fee entries is one less thing our lawyers have to remember to do when they are back in the office”.

Upcoming investment in increasing productivity across Australian legal firms is significant. In a recent LexisNexis Workflow & Productivity Survey, 39.5 per cent of Australian legal firms intend to re-invest 5–20 per cent of their annual revenue into productivity improvements in 2015. To achieve future efficiency and productivity gains, 52.6 per cent of the firms looked to optimising technology tools and solutions.

The new productivity features in Lexis Affinity 6.0 put information at lawyers’ fingertips and reduce the burden of managing day-to-day correspondence, so lawyers can focus on the needs of their clients more closely.
