Canstar Blue launches Innovation Excellence Awards - Telecommunications

Does your business stand right at the forefront of modern innovation? Has your company designed, developed and released an outstanding product or service, giving Australians the opportunity to communicate with each other like never before?

Consumer satisfaction research company Canstar Blue has just launched its Innovation Excellence Awards for telecommunication, in order to recognise and celebrate the latest and greatest of revolutionary products and services now making their way into the hands of consumers throughout Australia.

“We’re on a mission to find the most innovative products and services new to the telecommunications industry,” says Megan Doyle, Canstar Blue Business Unit Leader. “Anything that helps normal Australians better communicate with each other is up for consideration and we can’t wait to see what exciting new products and services are starting to excite consumers, or make their lives easier.

“We’re going to assess both the degree of innovation and the overall impact the product could make. We’re looking for game-changing, market disrupting products. It could be anything from a new app, mobile phone plan or feature, to a whole new telecommunications package. If it helps make the lives of normal Australians that little bit easier – or just puts smiles on faces – then we want to hear about it. No product or feature is too big or too small to be considered.

“So, if your business has demonstrated true innovation to enhance an existing product, or developed a new one, in the last 18 months, then we want to hear from you.”

Canstar Blue applauds excellence in products and services on behalf of consumers and is well-known and trusted for providing professional customer satisfaction ratings through its five-star review system.

Canstar Blue compares consumer and small business segments across a range of purchase decision criteria and issues awards based on customer satisfaction with a product or service. In addition, the company launched its inaugural Innovation Excellence Awards in 2014, focussing on the appliance and electronic sectors, with great success.

“These have now been added to our suite of awards to acknowledge and showcase products and services which demonstrate outstanding innovation in the consumer market,” added Mrs Doyle. “We were blown away by some truly innovative applications in our previous awards and we’re now looking forward to seeing what fantastic new Telco products are making their way into the market.

“This is your chance to be recognised as a truly innovative company and to showcase the products or services you are particularly proud of.”

Objective and subjective measures have been carefully developed by Canstar Blue researchers to identify key measures of product innovation. This will ensure there is fair comparison of all products that are eligible for these awards. Canstar Blue also has external industry and consumer specialists on the award’s judging panel in order to ensure that the decisions made are robust and reflect the market conditions.

Companies wishing to submit an application for a product or service launched in the last 18 months, since June 31, 2013, can do so by completing the innovation questionnaire on the Canstar Blue website. This information may be published verbatim on the Canstar Blue website after an internal review of applications.

In addition, Canstar Blue is also welcoming consumer nominations for their favourite telecommunications products or services.

Applications for the Innovation Excellence Awards – Telecommunications close on January 16, 2015, with the release of winners in February.
