Unique Christmas Recipe Ideas 2014

Announcement posted by Christmas World 07 Nov 2014

So you’ve got your real or artificial Christmas tree, you’ve bought your Christmas lights and presents but what about food? Check out these amazing Christmas recipe ideas to put on your table this season. After all, Christmas only happens once a year, so let’s make the most of it!

Cola Ham

Yes, you read that right! Coca Cola may not be the healthiest drink around, but it can add an extra level of flavour to a good piece of meat! Bring your ham to a boil in a pot of water. Once it’s cooked, drain the pot and add Coca Cola to continue the cooking process. Due to cola’s sweetness it turns into a caramel-like sauce that then coats the ham. An absolutely delicious recipe that goes great with many side dishes!

Pork Terrine

This is a wonderful recipe for a light Christmas meal or as a side dish. The whole dish is easy to put together and the ingredients are relatively inexpensive. Once you have assembled everything, place the terrine in the fridge and allow it to completely set for about 12 hours. This will also allow all of the different tastes to merge together for a wonderful terrain!

Caramelised Onion Tart

A wonderful treat for food lovers! This recipe starts with a basic tart crust, made from flour and very cold butter. After that the onions are caramelised and combined with mustard, eggs, fresh thyme and nutmeg, which is then poured over the crust and baked together. This dish is tasty, crispy, buttery and above all an absolutely wonderful treat for the whole family this Christmas! Although this can also be a side dish, it is often eaten as part of the breakfast meal.
