CAT S50 is the latest addition to CAT’s rugged smartphones that features a very robust and tough contour in order to provide a great protection on the go. It includes a mid-sized 4.7-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen supporting 16M colours, 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and a 312ppi pixel density. The multitouch display uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating to avoid scratches and other bumps during regular use.
The IP67 certified rugged phone comes equipped with a Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8926 processer together with 2GB RAM. It operates Android OS v4.4 (KitKat) and boasts an 8GB internal storage that can be enlarged up to 64GB by adding a separate microSD card.
On the back, there’s an 8-Megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash capable of recording 1080p@30fps videos. A VGA front-facing cam is also a part of this phone to support video calling.
Other interesting features to note are - Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, 3.5mm Audio jack, Compass, FM radio, HTML browser and Non-removable Lithium Ion 2630mAh battery.
