Benalla's North Eastern Hotel Changes Hands

Announcement posted by Connolly Hospitality 10 Dec 2014

The North Eastern Hotel is Benalla's premier hotel - known for its quality food offering, generous function facilities and excellent service. The hotel changed hands in December after a purchaser was secured by Melbourne agents Connolly Hospitality.
Dec. 10, 2014 - MELBOURNE, Australia -- Tony and Helen Ashton are well known names when it comes to hotels in north east Victoria - the couple previously owned and operated the Happy Valley Hotel in Ovens; around 89 km east of Benalla.

In 2007, the Ashtons purchased the North Eastern Hotel at auction through hotel agent Pat Connolly, then set about completing a major refurbishment. As true 'hands on' operators, the couple have devoted all their energy to building the impressive business the North Eastern Hotel is today.

Tony Ashton comments "We have enjoyed our time here. Growing the business has been a challenging yet worth while experience. We're really looking forward to spending some quality time with our son Jack - a round of golf or two is also on the agenda".

Purchaser Geoff Thomas is also well versed when it comes to pubs in North East Victoria - owning and operating some well known venues including the Delatite Hotel Mansfield, the Mansfield Hotel and the Overlander Hotel in Shepparton.

When asked about his plans for the North Eastern Hotel, Geoff commented "'It will be steady as she goes initially - the hotel offers a very high level of service. The main aim is to keep current clientele happy while exploring further avenues of growth'.

Drop in and meet Geoff Thomas and his team at the North Eastern Hotel for a premium dining experience - 1 Nunn Street, Benalla Victoria.
