Voyeur is for audiences who like to watch and after a year of sell out performances at Sydney’s cabaret venue - Slide, Voyeur will present its first interstate show in Brisbane on February 14, 2015 at the Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre. The show forms part of the 11 day MELT Festival of music, cabaret, comedy, circus, visual arts and community panels. Tickets are on sale now.
Produced and directed by James Taylor, from the Sydney Dance Company via the Royal Ballet-London, Voyeur features a multi-award winning cast devised from the Aussie Pole Boys ensemble, including Blue Phoenix (aka Mr Pole International 2014), Mr X, Petr Pavlov, Damien Grima and David Aeon.
As well as the stunning bodies on display, Voyeur features site specific, stage, sound and lighting effects as created by Ian Gordon from AtlasWorX. Costumes by Jacques Tchong and host, Fidel Cathro add the finishing touches to the show.
“Voyeur brings male burlesque out of the shadows and pushes it into the spotlight for everyone to see,” James said.
“It’s an adult’s only display of daring and erotic dance and a sensory overload of suggestion, seduction and striptease.
“I’d encourage Brisbane audiences to come and be a part of this ground breaking production and explore their inner voyeur.”
