Announcement posted by Cuddles Childcare Centre 14 Jan 2015

Approaching 20 years of providing child care to the Perth community, family-run business celebrates past while looking towards the future.
Perth, WA, 14 January 2015 - Cuddles Childcare Centres currently offer three locations in the Perth area: St James, Carlisle and Bertram. On 6 February, 2015, all three will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cuddles Childcare Centres. The celebration begins from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Bertram Centre. The celebration at the St James Centre begins at 2:00 pm and ends at 4:00 pm. The Carlisle centre begins their celebration at 2:30 pm and ends at 4:30 pm.

Each centre will have a large birthday cake and a sausage sizzle. Each centre will provide a bouncy castle and many more activities and surprises. In addition, the staff will be wearing the new Cuddles Childcare Centre uniforms for the first time.

Michelle Coleski, Operations Manager for Cuddles Childcare Centres, anticipates a celebration that is fun for children, parents and staff. According to Ms Coleski: “We are really looking forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary of providing high quality child care to the Perth area. Child care is a labour of love for everyone on our staff and we are all proud to be celebrating a milestone anniversary like this one.”

Cuddles Childcare Centres have a motto: “Learning Through Play.” Their operation thrives within the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) while providing an environment in which children can have so much fun that learning happens on “auto-pilot.” Numerous studies have suggested that children learn the fastest while they are playing because they are fully engaged in what they are doing.

Activities for Children at Cuddles Childcare Centres

Cuddles Childcare Centres provide many opportunities for children to play, as a group or as individuals, on a weekly basis. These activities allow children to develop skills while having so much fun that it doesn’t feel like “school.”

Shake ‘n’ Bake is an activity in which the children help the staff cook food. When the food is finished, everyone eats it together. The staff members do the “heavy lifting,” while the children are given simple tasks that allow them to help and to learn at the same time.

Children develop fine motor skills by pouring or stirring. They learn mathematics skills by counting objects or measuring ingredients. They also learn about cleanliness and about organisation as they become more aware about food preparation.

There are a plethora of other activities, such as Jessie’s Art Time, Messy Play, Junior Soccer Goals, Friday Fun Day and one activity for babies: Let’s Squiggle.

Ms Coleski is excited about the upcoming events and proud of what Cuddles Childcare Centres have been able to accomplish in their twenty years. According to Ms Coleski: “We are proud to be celebrating twenty years of providing the best child care we know of in the Perth area and are eagerly anticipating a bright future.”

Cuddles Childcare Centres provide child care to Perth and suburbs such as Wattle Grove, Vic Park and Cannington.
