Angels Goal and Global Fundraising Initiative launch Angels Goal Initiative

Announcement posted by Global Fundraising Initiative 21 Jan 2015

New shopping website to raise funds to combat bullying and prevent youth suicide

Angels Goal, the Australian charity combating Bullying in the Community and working to prevent youth suicide, along with Australian shop to donate business Global Fundraising Initiative, has launched "Angels Goal Initiative".

Angels Goal Initiative, http://angelsgoal.initiativeaustralia.com, is an online shopping site where people can shop for products and services from Australian retailers and donate for free to Angels Goal to continue and expand their programmes to combat bullying in the community and preventing youth suicide.

"We know from the research conducted that nearly 1 in 4 children report being bullied in Australian schools and almost every day of the year, one person under the age of 25 commits suicide with bullying as a contributing factor for more than half of these deaths," says Mr Reuben Cunningham, Director of Angels Goal.  "These figures are a national tragedy and it is the objective of Angels Goal to work with schools, parents, students and the wider community to stop the bullying and prevent youth suicide."

"At this time of year, parents across Australia are getting ready to send their children off to school and for a lot of them, there are concerns about the safety of their child due to the prevalence of school and youth bullying," added Mr Cunningham, "and so we have launched Angels Goal Initiative as a way for people to get involved and donate for free to support Angels Goal."

The Global Fundraising Initiative creates free donations to charity from people shopping with the retailers on their website, turning the commissions from sales into donations.  Shoppers only have to buy the products and the Initiative makes the donation on their behalf to their preferred charity.

"Shopping with the Initiative's participating retailers doesn't cost shoppers any more than buying from them direct," said Mr Alex Jordan, CEO of the Global Fundraising Initiative.  "The retailers we work with pay the Initiative a commission for each sale generated when someone shops via our site and in turn we donate the commission to charity creating the ability for shoppers to donate for free."

"People can buy clothes, shoes, beauty products, flowers, sporting goods, office supplies, book hotels and even sign up for a credit card, insurance policy or mobile phone account.  They can even have a donation made by ordering home delivery for their meals" added Mr Jordan.  "Australians spend $30 billion a year through online shopping and the Initiative is working to redirect the commissions paid out from these sales to charity rather than just going into the pocket of an online business.”

"When we were approached by Angels Goal to provide them with Angels Goal Initiative, we saw this as an amazing opportunity to support an organisation that is working to stop one of the great problems in society today.  How could we not get involved?", said Mr Jordan.

The shopper buying products via the Angels Goal Initiative website will have the option of joining the site.  If they do join, the commissions generated by their shopping is donated to Angels Goal in their name and the shopper will receive a tax deductible receipt from Angels Goal for the donation amount.

"The Initiative is the one making the donation, not the shopper," explained Mr Jordan, "we make the donation in the shoppers name as our way of saying thank you and encouraging them to come back and shop again through Angels Goal Initiative so more money can be donated.  It is the shopper after all that is spending the money."

Products available to be purchased or signed up to include Broadband accounts, Mobile Phones, Credit Cards and general online shopping products such as shoes, clothes, perfumes, colognes, sporting goods, office supplies, books, hotels and many more.

The Initiative is open to all Charity supporters to participate.  The shopper simply has to register their details with the Initiative specifying which charity should receive the donation.  The Initiative pays 100% of the donation amount to the charity.

"All donations generated through Angels Goal Initiative will exclusively go to Angels Goal to support their great work and efforts," said Mr Jordan.

"Australians already give so much to charity that the industry is facing donor exhaustion and with the present state of the economy and the high levels of consumer uncertainty, the  Initiative can help Angels Goal raise the money they need whilst supporting retailers to generate sales, not costing shoppers any more than they are already going to spend."

Angels Goal Initiative launches 21 January, 2015.
