Fujitsu and QUT Technology Partnership Puts Students on Path to Success

Announcement posted by Fujitsu Australia Limited 18 Feb 2015

News Facts:
  • Fujitsu and QUT have jointly developed a CRM unit for undergraduate IT course
  • Strong, economy-wide demand for CRM skills including business consultants and analysts

Sydney, 18 February 2015 – Fujitsu and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) are now equipping undergraduate IT students for a career in one of the fastest growing areas of the technology sector.

In a new industry partnership, Fujitsu Australia has partnered with QUT’s Science and Engineering Faculty to deliver a subject on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. The course development is in response to market demand for focus on this increasingly key area that underpins how organisations manage and improve all relationships across the enterprise.

The new subject is of particular value to final year students of the Business and IT courses. Fujitsu Australia is also offering 10 merit-based scholarships to undergraduates studying the new CRM course at QUT.

Darshana Sedera, Associate Professor, Faculty of Science and Engineering at Queensland University of Technology, who led this initiative for QUT, said: “This practical subject has been jointly designed by experts from Fujitsu and QUT so that our students graduate with the latest skills to help them forge careers in this rapidly growing, technology-driven business area.”

Fujitsu is highly credentialed in the CRM arena. As a global systems integrator and thought leader in this evolving specialisation, Fujitsu sees CRM as a strategic business initiative aimed at better managing all those in the value chain: from customers to employees, partners, suppliers and investors. CRM systems help companies organise, automate and synchronise services and data related to these individuals. Fujitsu combines its expertise and selected third-party CRM products to offer a comprehensive portfolio that meets emerging business needs.

Les Davey, Vice President of Business and Application Services at Fujitsu Australia, said: “Fujitsu is proud to partner with QUT in support of the University’s drive to provide industry-relevant skillsets to its students. We are seeing strong demand for CRM systems knowledge from various sectors across Australia, including many significant government projects. Students who successfully complete the course will be highly employable as we anticipate substantial increases in roles such as CRM business consultants and analysts.”
