IFS Secures Contract with the Three Gorges Project The Largest Hydropower Plant in the World
IFS has announced the signing of an agreement with the Three Gorges Project Corporation for the implementation of IFS Applications to provide total plant management, including maintenance, financials and human resources. Implementation commenced in April 2002, with the first phase expected to Go Live in mid-2003. The contract is valued at RMB 8 million (approximately USD 1 million).
The Three Gorges Project is the largest water conservation project in the world, located on the Yangtze River in Hubei province, central China. Upon completion, the Three Gorges Project will be the largest hydropower plant in the world, with a total installed capacity of 18,200 MW and an annual output of nearly 84.7 billion kWh, roughly one-tenth of electricity consumption in China.
