Cable Handling Safety

Announcement posted by Adept Direct - Cable Handling & Safety 26 Feb 2015

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 181,200 people sustained a workplace injury or illness through 'Lifting, pushing, pulling or bending on Australian building sites and workplaces over the last 12 months’. Obviously much more needs to be done to minimise these injuries and the significant cost to Australian businesses. One simple means of minimising trips and falls is to elevate cables, leads and hoses off the floor or ground.

Electrical and site safety specialists, Adept Direct have released a new extra heavy duty version of their Cable Roller Stand, to do just this. The new Extra Heavy Duty Cable Roller Stand builds on the proven strengths of smaller A-Frame Cable Stands to secure rolls of cable and data lines, but incorporates a heavy load carrying capacity to 150kg. The Cable Stand means that cable drums do not roll away during electrical installs and also keeps cable reels tangle-free. At 1 metre wide the new Cable Stand can hold up to 5 reels of cable depending on the size and is also taller at 800mm from the ground to the axle centre which means it can secure larger diameter cable rolls.

All Adept Direct Cable Stands are manufactured in Australia to the highest quality standards and the frames are powder-coated bright “safety” yellow. Additional safety features have been incorporated into the frames, with non-slip feet and thumbscrews to lock the frames to the cable axle.
