New Free Cuppa App aims to save lives with the help of StreetHawk.

Announcement posted by StreetHawk 03 Mar 2015

The use of personalized in-app messages and push notifications enables Free Cuppa to engage with users in real time.

Sydney, NSW: Founders of 365cups, a winner in the 2012 and 2013 Australian Mobile Awards, are set to relaunch the Free Cuppa for the Driver Scheme.  Free Cuppa is a three year pilot program with the RMS[1] Western NSW that allows travellers to stop at various towns during their journey and claim a free cafe-brewed coffee. The program, Free Cuppa, was initially a paper-based system that will now be digitally launched as an App.

As travellers journey on the Newell Highway, they will be receiving alerts through their App to local businesses providing a ‘Free Cuppa’. This real-time communication combined with right person and place messaging will be powered by StreetHawk, an In-App Mobile Marketing Automation platform. FreeCuppa App users will be actively engaged and encouraged to ‘STOP REVIVE SURVIVE’ and through the integration of StreetHawk, drivers will also gain easier awareness of rest stops through geo-sensitive push notifications.

“Tired drivers are one of our biggest concerns on the road, however quite easily dealt with. We hope that with the new Free Cuppa App, more and more tired motorists are willing to get off the roads and stop for a break. When you think about it, they can now use this technology to save lives - that’s pretty incredible,” said Simone Eyles Co-Founder and Director of 365cups.

By delivering driver relevant right time content, the Free Cuppa App will be able to engage with users through personalised in-app messages and triggered push notifications. These individualised location sensitive messages, based on user activity, will allow for Free Cuppa to build customer relationships, improve and measure consumer engagement.

“The integration of StreetHawk not only allows Free Cuppa to provide real time interaction with its users but also implements ‘actionable analytics’ to measure consumer engagement with the App. So, the new digital Free Cuppa is highly differentiated from the previous paper based program and will be more effective for local businesses and drivers to use,” said StreetHawk CEO David Jones.

“By integrating the StreetHawk platform, we are able to segment our users to receive relevant push notifications about nearby rest stops at the right time so to ensure driver safety. In doing so, the new Free Cuppa App intends to reduce the number of road fatalities throughout Western NSW. For the first time, the Free Cuppa for the Driver Scheme will be able to measure user engagement and the overall effectiveness of the program,” said Simone Eyles Co-Founder and Director of 365cups.
