Teknowledge Software Announces Nationwide Talent Hunt Contest

Announcement posted by Teknowledge software 23 Mar 2015

Teknowledge Software, in association with its overseas partners, recently announced a new all-India talent hunt competition - One App Up. The aim of the competition is to unearth new, interesting and viable app ideas.

During a media conference last Friday, Teknowledge Mobile Studio - a mobile app development firm - announced the launch of a talent-hunt competition. The contest has been tentatively named ‘One App Up’, and would be focused on encouraging youngsters across India to come up with new and innovative app ideas.

During his address, Mr. Hussain Fakhruddin - the CEO of the mobile app company - expressed hope that the competition would serve as a great platform for students and freshers to think up interesting app concepts. Teknowledge has always been a company that values innovation, he reiterated - and the best app ideas received would be transformed into apps.

One App Up is being organized by Teks iPhone/Android app development company, in collaboration with Teks Sweden and Teks Mobile Australia (the overseas chapters of the firm). A reliable source from the company confirmed that the talent hunt would go live from the third week of May, and would continue for 60/90 days. Mr. Fakhruddin revealed that he has plans to organize the talent hunt twice every year - the Spring/Summer edition and the Fall edition.

In an exclusive interview, the company CEO also talked about the prizes that were up for grabs for participants of the One App Up challenge. There was a lucrative cash prize awaiting the winner, while each of the 5 finalists will be invited to the offices of the mobile app development company, for counselling and guidance. A six-member jury has already been formed to judge the viability and merit of each submitted app idea.

Mr. Fakhruddin rightly pointed out at the event that the brain drain from India is rising at an alarming rate. To counter this problem, he has plans to offer internship projects to the winner/finalists of the talent hunt competition. The youngsters would get exclusive opportunities to work on their own app ideas, and rub shoulders with some of the top mobile app developers in the country. Successful completion of the month-long internship can lead to full-time job offers too.

At the conference, Mr. Fakhruddin also elaborated on the way in which the One App Up challenge will be conducted. The first stage would be ‘App Idea Submission’, which would be followed by ‘Brainstorming’ (among the jury members). After this, the five best ideas will be shortlisted, and one among them will be declared the winner. Participation would be, of course, free.

A separate website for the One App Up challenge is already being created by the web developers and graphic designers of Teknowledge. In addition to general information about the competition, the website would have an introductory questionnaire for candidates, along with the final app submission. Explaining the rationale behind the questionnaire, Mr. Fakhruddin explained that it would help the participants highlight the practical utility of their app ideas.

Touching upon the eligibility issue, the CEO of the app development company mentioned that all final-year students of tech colleges across India will be able to take part in the challenge. There are plans in place to send hoardings and pamphlets of the talent hunt to select colleges as well. The competition will be targeting freshers, and not already working professionals, stated Mr. Fakhruddin.

There will be yet another attraction for the winners/finalists of the One App Up challenge. Provided that they agree for the internship at the cross-platform app development company, they will get the chance to work with the latest gadgets and devices - ranging from updated iMacs, to the flagship iPhone 6 and Android phones/tablets. It will be a lifetime experience for aspiring app developers - that’s for sure.

Registrations would soon be open for One App Up - the first talent hunt of its kind organized by the Teks team. It will, hopefully, be the perfect platform for blending great app ideas and shaping the careers of youngsters across the nation. It certainly seems to be an interesting initiative, and it has the potential to emerge a big success.
