Brother International Australia has committed a donation of AUD$10,000 to help the Red Cross in their continuing relief efforts.
Sydney, Australia – 30 March 2015 – When Tropical Cyclone Pam made landfall on 6 March 2015, the Pacific Island nations were among the worst affected with many communities requiring urgent assistance with food, water and health services.  In Vanuatu, the government estimates half the population, some 166,000 people were affected with 50-90% of homes damaged and 65,000 people in need of shelter.  The Red Cross were on the ground assisting with evaluations before the cyclone hit and are continuing to offer relief during the aftermath.  This includes providing families with supplies and counselling, assisting in restoring sanitation services and ensuring communities have safe drinking water.

Upon hearing reports from the region, not only in the media but also directly from retail and channel partners in Port Villa and other parts of the country, Brother International Australia has committed a donation of AUD$10,000 to help the Red Cross in their continuing relief efforts. The work the Red Cross has done thus far has been incredible but Brother recognises the need for financial assistance to allow the work to continue.  Australians have a long history of generosity when it comes to humanitarian aid for our neighbours and countries around the world. Brother appeals to its customers to join them by assisting the Red Cross in any way they can so the people of Vanuatu can rebuild their lives and homes.
