New landmark tower for Green Square Town Centre unveiled

Mirvac Group and UrbanGrowth NSW today revealed the latest premium residential offering, Ovo, at Green Square Town Centre in Sydney. Featuring 224 luxury apartments, Ovo represents special significance as Green Square Town Centre’s tallest tower, occupying a prominent gateway location at 956-960 Bourke Street and setting the tone for the new precinct.
Ovo’s distinctive design, from multi-award winning architecture practice Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (FJMT), features a unique, ellipsoid shaped tower that maximises views of the city and surrounds. Perched proudly atop a podium with a glazed façade, Ovo sets a new benchmark for luxury living at Green Square.
Ovo enjoys prime position at the heart of Green Square Town Centre’s thriving retail precinct. With its artisan style retail shops, as well as the Civic Plaza, parks, aquatic centre and the Stewart Hollenstein-designed library, residents will benefit from an abundance of amenity, right on their doorstep.
Mirvac’s Development Director, Paolo Razza, said the launch of Ovo had been brought forward due to unprecedented demand from buyers looking to own a piece of the Green Square vision and lifestyle.

“The distinctive ellipsoid form and podium of the Ovo tower will open up the corners of the Green Square site, maximising views and cross ventilation far more than a traditional, rectangular-shaped building. A series of coloured panels across the façade will play with scale, blurring the distinction between levels and creating the appearance of the building as a single form – it will truly be an impressive site to behold.”
“The building will be oriented to the north, ideal for city views, and will elevate the perception of Green Square,” added Mr. Francis-Jones.
Ovo is the second apartment building to be delivered by Mirvac in the Green Square Town Centre with UrbanGrowth NSW. UrbanGrowth NSW, the NSW Government’s city transformation arm, aims to deliver on the vision of a vibrant global village that’s well connected and increases the supply of housing and jobs for Sydney.
Construction for Ovo is set to begin in the second half of 2015, with expected completion by early 2018.
