DEAR JOHN COMPANYS 'SCREAMING SILENCE' A SUCCESS

Announcement posted by GlowBored 15 Apr 2015

Local company Dear John Film and Theatre's fast-paced thriller Screaming Silence a success.

Local company Dear John Film and Theatre presented their film Screaming Silence to a receptive full house for a premiere screening at The Palace Barracks Cinemas on the 22nd March. “We are thrilled with the reception we received at The Barracks last night, and look forward to sharing this story with people all around the world” said Screaming Silence Director Amanda Hardwick.

Screaming Silence explores the sinister realm of the human experience. On a week like no other twelve high school students travel to Mt Glory as part of their schools compulsory weeklong camp, aiming to build character and strengthen peer bonds. Whilst at first the picturesque landscape serves to complement the camper’s healthy risk-taking activities, it soon becomes apparent that one camper has come prepared to risk all their lives in violent retribution for a history of social rejection. Together, the campers face challenges beyond that of the outdoor activities, with failed friendships, untrustworthy intentions and untouched romances boiling to the surface.

“I couldn’t have been prouder of the twelve cast members who contributed so much more than a performance to the film. Collaboration is difficult, even for adults, but these teenagers proved themselves and last nights screening showed that hard work pays off. We plan to enter into as many festivals - Both locally and internationally - That we are eligible for. We were able to put money aside in the budget that we made from fundraising for the very important role that film festivals have in marketing our film” said Amanda.
