Cybercrime is when crime occurs over the internet. The most common forms of cybercrime include Attacks on computer systems, identity theft, online scams or frauds, email spam or phishing, cyber bullying, illegal and prohibited content. Cybercrime is an issue which impacts most of us in Australia and sometimes we do not know how to deal with it.

If you are effected with a cybercrime it’s important to report it to The Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network (ACORN).

ACORN is a national policing initiative that allows you to securely report cybercrime incidents online helping our law enforcement agencies to better combat the growing threat of cybercrime. These agencies are working together to make Australians a harder target for cybercrime.

As the internet becomes more and more a part of our everyday lives, cybercrime grows. ACORN provides not only the way to report cybercrime but also provide advice on recognising and avoiding cybercrime to help you stay safe online.

If you have been a victim of cybercrime we urge you to report it with ACORN.
