VINNIES AND BEYOND BANK PARTNER UP TO PROVIDE URGENT SUPPORT TO HUNTER COMMUNITY

Announcement posted by Beyond Bank Australia 30 Apr 2015

30 APRIL 2015
Beyond Bank is pleased to announce it will be working with the St Vincent De Paul Society Maitland/Newcastle Central Council to provide immediate and ongoing assistance to Hunter families impacted by the recent severe storms.

The Hunter Natural Disaster Relief Appeal was kicked off on Thursday 23 April 2015 by Beyond Bank with a $50,000 donation.

“The donation made by Beyond Bank will be used immediately by Vinnies so it can start distributing gift cards to those families who need urgent help,” Beyond Bank Chief Executive Officer, Robert Keogh said. “These gift cards will help them purchase basic goods such as food and household items like blankets.

“We hope that for those who lost so much, this financial assistance along with the knowledge that the local community is rallying behind them, will help them get through these early days.”

“Beyond Bank wanted to do something specifically for the people of the Hunter. One hundred percent of funds raised through this appeal will be used in the Hunter and our partnership with Vinnies will ensure donations are quickly directed to where they can do the most good.”

Funds are continuing to be raised and Beyond Bank and the St Vincent De Paul Society will work closely together to make sure donations effectively contribute to the region’s recovery.

“There is obviously a lot that needs to be done to help people get back on their feet, so we really urge the community to get behind this appeal,” Mr Keogh said.

Anyone who can help can make a donation at a Beyond Bank branch, by calling 13 25 85 or online at www.beyondbank.com.au/hunterappeal
