Announcement posted by Citygreen 11 May 2015
Release: 23 April 2015
Leading expert on urban forestry and Founder of Citygreen, Ben Gooden, has been announced as a keynote speaker at the two-day SPEL Green Infrastructure Innovation Forum. Day 1 will take place in Sydney on the 12th of May, and Day 2 in Brisbane on the 13th of May. On both days, Ben will present at 12.30pm.
Ben’s presentation will outline how to design green building systems to improve urban planting success and increase forest canopy in urban areas. He passionately believes that cities without an urban forest (or, cities with stunted, underperforming trees) are awful, barren places. In order to thrive, mankind needs trees in urban spaces. But, trees have always battled to survive in cities, with no economically or arboriculturally viable solution.
Informed by this belief and Ben’s natural inclination for problem solving, Citygreen offers engineered green building systems to turn grey urban spaces into green oases. These solutions are best practice in their field and endorsed by professional organisations around the globe, putting Citygreen at the cutting edge of sustainable tree pit solutions for cities.
A free event with great food, attendees at the forum will also:
•Hear from Tim Silverwood on litter pollution facts
•Be inspired by Ralf Walker’s expertise in designing green roofs
•Learn about innovative and cost-effective stormwater treatment technologies
•Touch and feel real SQID product samples
•Network with other industry partners
