Conference aims to ensure a future of strong, informed leadership within Australia's public sector

A unique event that focuses on the talent and drive of Australia’s young leaders within the public sector is set to once again take place across Australian capital cities this May and June.

Officially titled the Australian Public Sector Young Leaders Conference, the event is in its 6th year and is a unique developmental opportunity for aspiring leaders and new managers.

“First and foremost, the aim of the conference is to ensure a future of strong, informed leadership within the Australian public sector,” explained James Yorston, Conference Facilitator for the event. “However, the event also aims to give young leaders valuable exposure to the big picture of public sector business, and by doing so, teach new managers how to achieve great results.”

The conference takes place in the following four capital cities:

 - Perth, 21 May
 - Brisbane, 10 June
 - Melbourne, 16 June
 - Canberra, 24 June

Featured speakers include Trevor White, the Chief Operating Officer of the Victoria State Emergency Service; Sonia Cooper, Deputy Commissioner, Workforce, Strategy and Performance for the Public Service Commission; and Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, Chief of the Australian Navy.

The conference series is delivered by the Australian School of Applied Management, a company focused on creating new standards in the provision of management development education and collaboration.
