Brisbane Cathedral lights up for annual art exhibition

‘Let there be Light’ is the theme for this year’s annual Cathedral of St Stephen Art Group’s exhibition which awards local artists with a range of Art prizes announced on the opening night.

With over 60 artists exhibiting with artwork available for purchase the Cathedral is opening its door to this free exhibition.

According to Cathedral of St Stephen Art Group Chairperson and contemporary painter Ms Michelle Bowden the entries this year are breath taking.

“Light has inspired artists from many different places in many different ways. We have been overwhelmed by the quality of artworks entered.”

“Our main aim is to support emerging and established local artists with the opportunity to exhibit. It is a great opportunity to view this excellent quality art in the CBD.

The exhibition takes place at the in the Cathedral Precinct at the Francis Rush Centre, 249 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane  Opening night is Thursday the 2nd of July from 6:00pm. The exhibition continues on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 9:00am to 5:00pm
