Melbourne, AUSTRALIA – 24 June 2015 – Daisy App, the innovative mobile application that combats family violence through education and support services takes the top state industry award at the Victorian Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) 2015 State iAwards

Daisy App, an Australian Government funded initiative was developed by Tigerspike, a leading global technology company specialising in mobile and digital products and 1800RESPECT, the National Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Counselling Service, from all State and Territory governments, was awarded the as the most innovative solution in the government services category.

The Hon Michaelia Cash, the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women, and Rosie Batty 2014 Australian of the Year launched Daisy on 5 March this year.

Daisy App is an initiative of the Australian Government’s Department of Social Services, developed under the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010 – 2012, and is the first Australian mobile App to connect women experiencing gendered violence to their respective state and local support services – bringing together service information in a safe, secure and intuitive environment.

Daisy also has a technology tips section on how to increase safety online and when using mobile phones,”  said Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash.

The AIIA recognised Daisy for the easy, intuitive and safe way it enables users to find a wide range of services – from specialist services, legal support or financial information, through to crisis accommodation.
