FIERY FRENCH CHEF IGNITES A REVOLUTION AT COTTAGE POINT INN

Announcement posted by Cottage Point Inn 01 Jul 2015

Special Bastille Day Set Menu

Bastille Day, for the French it is a day to remember the storming of the Bastille and to celebrate liberty from theancient regime. There is no bigger festivity in France. For the rest of us, it's an excuse to don a figurative beret, quaff French wine and toast the rich history and superb cuisine of France.

This Bastille Day on Tuesday 14 July 2011,modern fine dining restaurant, Cottage Point Inn, feeds the masses with a delectable French three course feast. Much like the storming of the Bastille, hunger is sure to be over-thrown and tastes buds exhilarated by a truly modern array of flavours Francophiles will love.

Head Chef is the impossibly handsome Frenchman, Guillaume Zika, who at just 30 years of age has already developed a signature style; integrating traditional French techniques with locally sourced produce. His talent, coupled with his piercing blue eyes, blonde, surfer-style hair, and French good looks, is making him a darling in Sydney food circles.

Guillaume’s menu is everything you want for a day celebrating all things French. Following a complimentary Pastis or Kir Royale, the three-course set menu begins with a choice of Foie Gras Brioche or Creamy Shellfish Bisque. Following, a main of either Blue Eye Trevalla A La Grenobloise or a Beef Cheek Bourguignon. Finish with your choice Chestnut Tart or a Crème Catalan Parfait. A Cheese Course is an optional supplement. Cést Bon!

While the menu might be classically French, the setting is quintessentially Australian: Kookaburra’s serenade al fresco diners as they perch on the jetty railing, the midday light dances and glistens on the Hawkesbury, and the lush natural bushland slows time.

Cottage Point Inn is just a fifty minute drive from Sydney, nestled on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. The restaurant was awarded one Chefs Hat within Chef Zika’s first year at the helm, after he spent 18 months as Head Chef of (two Michelin starred) restaurant Hibiscus in London.

The special Bastille Day set menu is available for lunch only on Tuesday 14th July. It is a set-menu, priced at $75 per person, with a $10 cheese course supplement optional.
